I started from the Mönchjochshytte early in the morning over the Ewigschneefeld to the direction of Hinter Fiescherhorn (4025 m.). My plan was to climb it by it's snow slopes and then continue back to my starting point by traversing over the Gross Fiescherhorn (4049 m.). Having started very fast and being so close to Gross Grünhorn (4044 m.) tempted me to climb it's ridge (D) to the summit which I reached just 3,5 hrs after my start. I then descended to the Klein Grunhornlucke from where I started climbing the easy rock ridge to the summit of Hinter Fiescherhorn. From the summit I descended to the saddle in between the two Fiescherhorns and looked for a place to get over the schrund which had gaped quite a bit at this time of the summer. I had to continue quite a bit by the foot of the mountain to find a safe place to cross so when climbed over the schrund I took a direct line up the face to reach the ridge close to the summit. I followed the other climber's tracks down to the glacier and headed back to the hut which I reached 10,5 hrs after the start. I can tell You, Weissbier, bratwurst and rösti has never tasted so good!
