Mönch Traverse | 19.7.2006 (Solo)

After travelling from Zermatt to Grindelwald the previous day I took the Jungfraubahn railway to Jungraujoch. The ridge to the summit of Mönch (4107 m.) starts immediately by one of the exit points of the huge tourist complex. The ridge itself consist of relatively sound rock so it was easy and fast to climb. Having reached the summit in just 1hr50min from the base of the route to the summit I enjoyed the splendid weather and nice views over the Grindelwald and Interlaken. The way down the normal route is not difficult but extremely exposed so I was happy to have no wind attempting to push me down the several hundred meter high drops on both sides.
