Kilimanjaro - 5895 m
January 2nd - 14th 2007
Elina
Marttinen, Jussi Haara and Samuli summitted
the highest mountain of Africa in somewhat unordinary
conditions in January 2007. The whole summit
crater was thickly snow ladden and it is said
that there was more snow than in 45 years. The
group took the beautiful Machame route up to
the highest point, Uhuru Peak with their guides
Victor and David.
The ice caps on top of Kilimanjaro are quickly
disappearing and it is estimated that they are
totally gone by year 2015. You too can do Your
part in slowing down the global warming!
